PSP firmware 3.60 reveals hidden USB Charge feature, not compatible with PSP v1

Some people who have managed to get their hands on the new PSP Slim noticed the USB will NOT work with the old PSP?. They found the following new features; UMD cache - to increase the loading speed of games, USB charge - charge the PSP battery via USB and Connected Display Settings which features all the options to output video from your PSP.Is this something that can be easly hacked or otherwise changed im sure some of you smarter guys can sort something out! or is it a hardware isue? Ho i heard it comes with a 62meg rom too. sorry if this is common knowledge.
So wait, are you saying that USB doesn't work at all on old PSP's? As in wee can't hook up to the computer via USB? Or do you just mean that the USB charger won't work?
Moved to General Discussion.

Its not really news. At least not in the way you posted it.

But they are already a few major hardware changes that USB charging seems something that would be added.
the usb charging is a hardware issue. the +5v on the usb just isn't connected to the power pcb on the old psp (something indeed very stupid). the solution: get one of these cables

Hmm not sure, i just read that all of the features on the new 3.60 won't work on old psp,not sure what to make of that, sorry i didnt explain myself verry well:S
so u mean to say that 3.60 firmware cannot be used on the current psp.
wee don't know that yet but i guess it weuldnt work. i wonder what theyll do though... release games that need 3.60+? if they don't, then once 3.60 gets hacked they can't do anything. so probably theyll release 2 versions of every firmware from now on.
