I've still got my PSP, albeit with no memory stick reader. The memory stick reader broke a year ago and I can't load anything onto my PSP. The PSP itself still works, but it can't do anything apart from go on the internet (UMD Reader broke as well).
Is it possible to replace the reader in any way possible?
I've not heard of that.. to be honest I don't think many people have managed to break their memory stick reader. How did that happen?
Kinda offtopic a bit
My one Phat psp 1000 has trouble when your trying to put the memory card in the slot - like it doesn't click into place like it should (still works though just sometimes takes a few tries)
But yeah you can find replacements on sites like ebay and what not - just google and have a look around im sure you'll find a good site to buy from.
and you will have to have some fine soldering skills also.

I think I blew into the memory stick reader and my spit damaged it. Haven't checked it out though

thanks, I'll check it out (did some soldering for a project once)
BEFORE YOU SPEND MONEY
Simply try re-fluxing, and re-soldering the pins, spit should NOT have damaged the card reader at all, and if that is the case, all you have to do is dry it off.

What's the conductivity of spit anyway?
I'm assuming it's somewhere around water, since, you know, wee're mostly comprised of that spoon.
and that spoon breaks electronics.
It breaks electronics by completing circuits, and "moving" the electricity to somewhere it shouldn't be, I can see how the could damage a main part of the motherboard, but not the memory stick slot, because when you insert the card, the circuits are completed anyways.
All depends on your psp. Is it a 1000 or 2000/3000?
On a 1000 its easy as because the card reader is a separate part. However on a 2000/3000 its part of the motherboard and requires soldering etc as mentioned.

It's a 2000.
It's been a long time since I used it and I can't open it as I don't have them small screwdrivers.
