Seems as though a user by the name of "PSP Fanboy" has got his hands on a PSP2, as it's being called. Surpisingly, the system was shipped with firmware v3.60. So instead of going through alot of words, I'm going to go ahead and make a list of some features. Although this is version 3.60, there is yet no real confirmation that the first gen of PSP's will have the compatibility.

USB Charge function.

UMD Cache feature to speed up UMD load times
Video-out function
Screensaver ability

More then likely, increased security
And alot more undiscovered/unannounced features. In relation to the video functionality, games are bordered, rendered at 480x272 pixels, and or progressive scan exclusively. The most important, probably, is the security. Not to much has been announced about it.:)

~Daniablo~ Fixed title typo.. It was annoying me.. why do people keep saying firmwire ;P
Yeah wee know
but its cool you won't to tell the people that don't
Where did this news come from, is it legit?  If it were, I'd have expected one of the first things mentioned is the internal memory size, is it still a measly 32MB?
... i saw a page with specs... before... I'll check it out soon...
im guessing theyll release 2 versions of any future fw, if they rls any new fw for PSP1, because some of the hardware is slightly different. all the features you listed are hardware features
hmm ima get one inbout a month ill tell you but then

Sorry dude that is annoying isn't it;)
Features don't seem that great, I must say.  Unless you love playing the PSP on a larger display - personally, I'd play computer if I wanted larger display.

UMD Cache - ISOs For the win

Screensaver - erm, that's kinda st00pid (unless you get excited about screensavers).  The auto-screen turn off feature is so much more practical on a portable device. (I do it for my PC too; disable screensaver, and set auto-screen poweroff instead)

USB Charge - nice I guess.  Though I sometimes wonder whether constantly recharging is good for the battery.
