No it isn't the only issue, I agree with that, which is why in the previous post I said both the extreme views on piracy are wrong.

SkyDX Wrote: [ -> ]That publishers do more and more poo poo isn't helpful either... DLC that is supposed to be finished developing six months after a game is found on the release disc, day one DLCs that are "developed after the game was finished" is actually on the retail release... EA banning a users entire Origin account because he was QUOTED by someone that broke the rules and lastly, every MMO that doesn't come close to WoWs subscriptions is automatically labeled a failure to only name a few things...

A lot of game developers nowadays are just abusing DLCs to scrape more money off people.  DLCs are supposed to be for adding additional content to the game, that is not originally in the game.  However, these days, a lot of really happens is that a lot of game developers are actually locking content that is already available, that is given back to you if you purchase a DLC, which is pretty bullshit.

I agree with that too.

I mean often you see games with high system requirements (eg. stuff like Crysis) being lauded as the best thing ever because of the graphics.  But really, if 80% of the hardware currently used by people can't run your game (at acceptable resolutions and fps), then your game isn't the best thing ever, it's a failure of engineering.

I also agree here, back in the day it was about making great games and making profit, today it's more like "make anything to get bleeding edge profit" and I don't need to study economics to be able to tell that making a maximum of bleeding edge profit is going to hurt customer relationships pretty bad...

I'm glad you agree, I agree with you too, it kinda is a failure of engineering. And yeah, it really seems that nowadays it's like "graphics can compensate for any other wrongdoing!" which is just wrong...
Here is a good video I found http://www.ted.com/talks/rob_reid_the_8_..._ipod.html touchy subject about piracy.
This tread is full of alot of thinking.... Its making a great read. For the most of it I agree, but my opinion isn't worth much as I don't know enough about the background of things.
A dedicated gaming handheld?! Who needs that when you have an iPhone?

Handheld gaming has changed, and I hope Sony realizes that. Also, they should sue this guy, 'cause that worked out so good last time.
@whjms

unless iphone have physical buttons they can replace now dedicated handheld consoles, hehehe, but still most people buy 3DS and Vita (some still buy PSP/DS/GBA) since they can't appreciate playing some games that do not have physical buttons hehehe
Phone games suck from the ones I've tried.
But the casual gaming market is quite huge, so they get all the attention...

Because gaming on the iPhone or any strictly touch screen device in general sucks ass.

Yet people still play with such controls.

I think it's just the mindset of people who approach video games, usually people I find that play the small iphone games are ones who seem to have a low level of commitment to things in general and as such, something that distracts them for 5 minutes is more appealing than immersing themselves in gaming time that would otherwise take/make them want to take 30 minutes to complete the next segment of the game.

I dunno, just my observations thus far.

It largely is.  You've made statements in the past, and when criticised, often don't reply.
Which implies unjustified statements.

When that's on the table, how can you not reply.
