Aoi Sora and a beginner like me should start learning with a template but I find that Aoi Sora's pretty good (In the terms that the layout isn't the norm of MyBB)

That was our goal actually I designed it out of boredom and Sensei made it happen

He only claimed it to be a concept. He didn't (initially) say anything about making it.
A concept is a concept and never has to be made, or doesn't even need the intention of ever being made.
It's very doable. I've seen some very amazing custom themes for MyBB but they're usually for sale.

I've done a theme in phpBB, mind you quite a long time ago now so I don't know how much it's changed.
Enjoyed it more than MyBB - but the caching system is stupid if I remember correctly. Plus, I never said theming MyBB was hard - it wasn't - it was unnecessarily frustrating to work with. (They could have simplified the template/style system substantially. Too many things are hardcoded into the system.)
And yes, the concept could probably be made within a day if you started with Aoi Sora.

Well you won't be getting Aoi Sora, I'm afraid, as
described in this blog post it'll be EP-exclusive and wee won't be released to the public as it is.
This will make the task much more difficult, I know, but I don't think wee'll change our mind just because of this, sorry. If it's any encouragement, wee started from the default MyBB theme. (though I wonder if that was worth even doing...)
