Having a quick nose around the interwebs i couldn't find the article i was looking for, but i know there is a way to mess around with an XP ISO to make it take specific CD keys, or, by extension, any CD key. I can't however, for the life of me remember how, and i need a CD to reformat a PC and install it, and im not sure what type of key it is.

Anyone know about said method, or know about said article i can use to tweak it

Cheers guys
You could just install it, download a crack/keygen, and activate it that way.
True, but this is for a job, and for that reason I'm sticking by the book
You could retrieve the product key from the already installed XP before reinstalling again.

You can also retrieve the product key from the install CD using an already working install.

Am I missing something here or are you unsure what type of key it is as in OEM or retail etc?

I don't really understand why you would need to edit the ISO to begin with.
Im unsure as to the type of key, and i know theres a file hiding in there somewhere that lets me change the kind of key it will accept on installation.

EDIT: Found it - theres a string called PID in SETUPP.ini that does it
Ah I understand what you was getting at now.
jellybean keyfinder use it to find keys on pc ;p
This iso doesn't ask for a key, it's already activated, but its a modified version of xp (and I love it.)

"Micro XP Pro 0.98 | Fastest XP | Only 193MB Multilinks"
Why does anyone use XP anymore?
Don't post pirate stuff please~
