However i only use this site from my laptop as it is in my bookmarks.  Long story.  I will try from a few Internet shops computers over the next few days.

Now that's something I've yet to see.  Probably on your side :P

Doing a traceroute does show that the issue is indeed my host's.  After contacting them, it's apparently due to some people doing DoS attacks or something.
Dos attacks that sounds funny..!
site was down again just now.!?
DoS = Denial of Service.

I've been offline for the last couple of days - couldn't access this site.  Apparently, they blocked some IP ranges to try and stop the DDoS attack, but I got blocked.  The main issue I'm worried about is how many other people have been blocked...  Currently accessing this from a public computer and it seems okay...

Oddly, computer at work got blocked too, but it's IP is quite different from my home IP.  They said they'll whitelist my IP, but then, I'm mainly worried about other legit users trying to access the website...

China's Internet isn't really that bad.

When i went back to China, in the place wee stayed (relatives house) wee had 1mbit/s broadband, Which sadly, is way better than what i got at home in at the time, which was dial up. Even now, my 256kbit/s ADSL is still 4 times slower. Sadist

But at that time, i was unlucky enough to get the earthquake which broke all the cables linking Asia to the US. So the data from western sources has to be transfered by satellite, which couldn't take all the traffic, so speeds were like about 500bits/s (yes, bits). So that sucked. The only time i get on a faster connection i get an earthquake, and almost can't access any western sites for a month. :(

Internet is cheaper in China as well. Well that's probably because internet is so rediculously expensive here in Australia. (for those who don't know, in Australia, it costs about $30-$40AU/month to get 256kbit/s speed. $80+ for 1.5mbit/s cable.) If comparing to somewhere where internet is cheap, like the US, then it's a different story.

But the internet over there sometimes disconnects itself randomly, quite annoying. But that was i think because of the computer, not the internet. The computer wee had there was really gay, and the disconnections seem related to some system failure in windows, which happened right before each disconnection.
I can only access this site using proxy right now.
