Keeping on-going anime to a low number helps a lot. Even better if you can wait till after it's finished.
Comedies are probably harmless it watching weekly since they're usually pretty episodic but that said, I watched Sankarea weekly at the same time as SkyDX and that kept me fully absorbed despite the gaps between each episode.
I have six on-going at the moment but don't plan to add more - 2 of these are sports-based though so I'm not bothered much by the gap.
But for sure, picking up too much can kill your interest fast - keep on-going to a minimum and fill the gaps with other, older anime. Try not to make the new stuff seem too poo poo in the meantime.

hmmm...
i watch ongoing anime just like watching normal tv (as daily entertainment) since i don't have a tv, i don't feel they're different at all
usually i keep up 10-15 titles (J drama or live action included)

yeah well you got jdrama and live action to mix it up.
Anyways I've finished 2 series right now.
Fate/Zero: I really enjoyed this one. Makes me want to continue with Fate/Stay Night but I heard that one was no bueno 9/10
ZETMAN: I wasn't too excited about this one at first but it got more interesting later on. Lots of action and monster killan. Not as bad as I first expected 7/10

lol... although live action only 1-2 titles per run
in fate stay night anime they mix some fate route at once so that main hero/heroine would defeat all other enemies (no enemies killing each other like how it should). although its main plot is still following saber route (stay night route)
i wish ufotable would remake this or just make fate/heaven's feel instead

Sakamichi no Apollon: This is probably among my favorite ones from this season. Great anime with a lot of good stuff. A must watch 9/10
Would jam again
EDIT: Bumping it to a 10 because it really is good. I don't even care. I'm young and I'm living life on the edge.

What no that's mostly wrong.
There's 3 routes in Fate/Stay Night, and have to be played in this order... Fate ==> Unlimited Blade Works ==> Heaven's Feel. There's no "Stay Night" route, Fate route is the Saber route, it's also the most straightforward route. Heaven's Feel is the longest and darkest route.
The anime more or less follows the Fate route, although it has some elements of the Heaven's Feel route in it (remember that Sakura stuff that probably felt totally strange?... I don't even know why it's there).

Tsukihime would be good too, though they would be more or less forced to do Arc's route.

thanks for the correction,, it seems i don't remember the name correctly then
jeah,, that's what i meant lol,,, i forgot it was the fight against rider or caster which is taken from other route,,, at least in original fate route saber and shirou didn't beat every single enemies by themselves like shown in anime
heaven's feel as ova would be better i think since it contains adult contents which is important in story (which would be troublesome to be aired on TV)
sorry i don't know tsukihime very well,, only arcueid's route XD

Same thinking as me. Can see myself watching it many times. Truly awesome anime.

Nazo no Kanojo X: Very nice show. Like ZiNgA said Urabe was the main attraction here since the MC was a perv and just really dumb at times. I enjoyed it all throughout, ending was ok I guess. I'm tempted to read the manga to see how it goes.
7/10 would drool again
Sankarea: It was ok I guess, nothing amazing if you were to ask me and chances are I won't remember it that well in a year or so. Ending was meh too. Which is a shame because I had really high hopes for this one.
7/10 BUT only because of Wanko
