Hey how are ya'll?

Well after numerous threads and posts by me about building a computer or getting a new laptop or getting a good smartphone, of which I have done none until now, I decided to get a Macbook Pro, and now I have one.
Typing from it now. It's actually amazing, I'm not an avid mac fan but to finally have some good kit is nice. I think that it was definitely worth it, although I don't think I would have bought one had I not had a student discount where I got more than £400 pounds off.....I just need to get used to it now as I've been a windows user for a long while.

Just wondering if anyone knows how to boot to an external hdd. I'm gonna get an encasing for old laptops hdd and use it externally, but will I be able to run windows from it?? It'd be cool if I could, but if I can't that's also fine.

Now specosificats:

15-inch screen
2.4GHz quad-core Intel Core i7
4GB 1333MHz
750GB HDD 5400-rpm
Intel HD Graphics 3000
AMD Radeon HD 6770M with 1GB GDDR5

Might eventually upgrade the hdd to a faster RPM or SSD not sure yet.

SO EXCITING Adore
i is jelly

hai method~! =3

May need to check what you can modify in the BIOS/EFI configuration (probably not too much, being Apple, but I'd expect you to be able to at least the boot devices) or see if there's a key you can press to choose the device to boot from.

Congrats on finally getting something new, lol.
Very nice.
I think a custom bootloader is needed to boot from an external device (like Chameleon Loader).
I know on the iMacs, holding alt/option key before you start the computers starts the boot selector. Can't you just use boot camp?
yeah you can use bootcamp
also i wouldnt bother getting a 7200RPM, go to an SSD straight off, the difference between 5400 and 7200 isn't enough to warrant a new HDD
Thank God, I thought this thread was about sexchanges!
coolio 400GBP off :p

congrats reverend!
