Hey, Hi
I've been searching for a while and can't seem to find anything to answer my questions... I have a psp3000 6.60pro-B10 CFW and have tons of custom xmb themes installed.

I would LOVE to start making my own, including the click sounds and the cold boot sounds, however I cannot find anything online that will tell me step by step how to create these for the 6.60 cfw. I have tons of image editing software, downloaded the RCO editor and am now stuck :(

does anyone know of a tutorial that can help me with this?

Thanks Emptyone

EDIT:
I downloaded CTFtool and extracted a ctf and ptf to use as a base template. Assuming that the icons will all be the same size, I can create my own icons etc and then put them back through the theme converter I downloaded.

Once I have that theme, how would I then go about converting the ctf to 6.60 compatibility and how do I change the click sounds and bootup sounds? I read somewhere about just replacing the .prx files within the ctf, but I don't see anywhere to do that on these programs I have downloaded?

Thanks once again :)
Keep searching. Either look at the stickied posts in the Themes Section (nudge, nudge) or check DashHacks ;D

You generally wouldn't need to convert it as such.
Consider this: when Sony changes their firmware, they sometimes introduce new icons and remove others.  This means that there'll either be more or less icons or other resources in the RCO files.  PRX files almost always change between firmwares.
So if you've got a theme for 5.00, it probably won't work on 6.60 due to it lacking required icons or PRXes being completely different.
However, if you're working off a 6.60 base, then you don't need converting at all.  If you're trying to get a 5.00 theme to work on 6.60, you'll need to convert by putting in the new resources, and shifting the modded PRX values over to a 6.60 base.

Click sounds are stored in RCOs (system_plugin.rco from memory) as VAG files.  Rcomage has a WAV«>VAG converter built in, though I'm a little dubious over its quality.
Boot sound is in opening_plugin.prx I think - check a guide on how to mod that.

Basically means to decompile the CTF, replace the PRXes, then compile again.
So, for example, you extract C:\mytheme.ctf to C:\mytheme-files\, replace/mod the PRXes in C:\mytheme-files\, then compile everything in C:\mytheme-files\ into a CTF.

Ah that makes sense :) So if I use a pre-converted RCO as a template, it will already have all the files, so I can edit and re-pack it and it'll stay 6.60 compatible?

I actually downloaded a WAV« >VAG converter but will check out the RCOmage :) I was thinking of following this little guide http://www.extportable.com/t499-bootsoun...r-660#3648 but that's for 5.50 so would still need to convert. I'm surprised that noone has yet made a program to assign all these attributes on one screen so you don't need to download tons of programs!

Which would be the best program to do this? the Custom theme manager? or RCOmage? Facepalm I've downloaded so many programs, I've forgotten which one does what :p

Yes.

You'll need CTFtool.  Rcomage does nothing with CTFs.

Awesome! Does this go for the themes that have the icons in different places? Some of my downloaded themes have the icons at the bottom, and I LOVE it! can I do something like that?

I have this already, fantastic ^^ thank you :D Yay
Edit. Never mind ^^' I used the tutorial Here and managed to convert it Yay

As for the sounds, I used ctfTool to extract the rco and vsh, then used Wav to Vag converter to re-write the system_plugin.vco!! It overwrites the sounds and converts wav to vag in one step, so there's no need to use rco mage at all Specky

YAY! I used the Hero theme uploaded by swornleadejz here for the icons so all the rights go to the original owners, but I used a different background image from google and merged them together with the original menu sounds from Ocarina of Time :)
It's not very good, the background is horribly pixilated and the icons need tweaking, but I was just playing around to see if I could do it before starting to make my own icons and backgrounds and such ^_^

In case you wanted to try it out -

Yay

Thanks for all the help!!! I hope I can start to upload some decent themes soon ^_^
