Installation:

If for some reason you want to update your PSVita to the latest firmware, just re-name the file -updatelist.xml PSP2 that is in that directory for the CMA program not finding the update XML file from the server it look official SONY.

nice! that's one more step, an important one. sony forcing updates would be too painful to bear.

Couldn't sony just as easily update the cma program to block this from working.For now though it's a good thing

That's gonna be cat & mouse game for sony & hackers :D
If they patch the hack, hackers will find a way around it again and again.

Probably, but assuming this works correctly, they can't force you to use a new version of the program (in other words, bypass their future restrictions by sticking to an older version of the program).
