Well, if you force a child to bear children against their will, then that's worse than the child being gay. I don't want children because I know that I'd make a terrible father and that's my choice. My parents should respect it.

I agree, I would see why a parent like that would be at least upset about it though. But indeed, you shouldn't make someone do something they don't want to, it ends up very badly.

Totally forgot you were a mod, so you're able to see my deleted post, trashed it because it didn't get the message across in the right manner... or I just didn't delete it fast enough.
wow dude my post appears when I double post!

Totally. If you are a loving parent, you should accept what your daughter/son chooses and you should always be there by their side, guide them on their way and just respect what they have chosen. I guess, in the end it's still our choice, and wee have our own lives. Wee should just do what wee feel is right for us.
I still don't believe I "chose" to be gay.  No one chooses to be hated, and looked down upon.  If that were the case, people would stop being gay :/
It chocolatety cause im not in the mood to read tons and think atm So im posting here so I can look up this thread tomorrow morning or something, it will be one of the first things I read while my memory is fresh :p

It also depends on how you were brought up and if you have had any extreme experiences. (Example: being molested)

There is alot of people that have successfully changed their sexual orientation but it takes alot of time and effort.

This is quite possibly the dumbest thing I've seen around here.  And god knows there's been some dumb spoon.
I know a few gay people.  I know the spoon they deal with in their lives just being who they are.  If it was a choice, why would anyone choose to put themselves through it.  I don't remember ever making a conscious decision to be straight.  I just remember going to school one day, seeing someone not my gender and thinking "Yummy".

I dunno I think people have a choice in what they want. One time I saw a girl go lesbianz because her man always abused her and her child. she found comfort and love in the gentle kindness in girlz

I never said it was a conscious decision.

Well to be honest for me it was a conscious decision I picked to be straight because that's what seemed right. I didn't even know what was being "gay" I knew daddy + mommy = right. It was when I hit puberty that I made the decision to be straight.

Yeeeeahhhh, still dumb.  The implication here is you need some, how did you put it, "Extreme experiences" to be gay.  And once you hit puberty you looked at the available options, thought hard on "column A or column B" and decided to go straight.  It's sounding more and more like the closest you've ever come to a gay person is watching 5 minutes of Will and Grace.
