I thought Steam would be the solution to this but then EA pulled out and went their own way with Origin. Oh well.
Basically, competition is bad. It makes stuff disjointed and all over the place and difficult to figure out / manage. It also means you have the painstaking choice of what console to get, coupled with the knowledge that picking one will exclude you from exclusive games on the other platform.
Choice is bad and consumers should just be placed in a walled garden and be happy with it.
Alternatively, someone should really make some open platform to organise things together - but that of course, probably won't happen.
