Many complained that limiting downloads to 20MB was an absurd idea. Clearly Somy thought so too, so they decided to put the limit on upload instead. The upload limit will be limited to 1TB files only.
Somy did not confirm a reason to why the limit was put in place, but many are applauding the decision.
"It's a very smart move for stopping piracy," one analyst said. "It'll help prevent people distributing crappy upscaled movies onto the internet, that everyone seems to hate."
Another analyst mentioned that it would also make spreading viruses more difficult. "You see, a virus typically has nearly a billion atoms - if you consider the number of subatomic, then sub-subatomic particles involved, you can easily see that it exceeds 1TB of information. Thus, limiting uploads to 1TB can stop the spread of viruses."
