Endless Paradigm

My first tutorial, sorry for anything.

I know that its mostly useless, but...

Here wee goes:

This is for if you can't normally extract the ptf theme with CTFTool, but PSP opens it. AKA as CTFTool: "Not a ptf theme".

Quick and simply way Wrote:1)Open the theme in your PSP, wait for it to apply the custom theme. (Don't know if it will work with cxmb, so its better to disable it for a while.)

2)On VSH Menu(Or recovery menu), set the USB to FLASH1.

3)Plug your PSP to the PC. Navigate to FLASH0:/vsh/theme/

4)copy "custom_theme.dat" to any folder, then rename to whatever.PTF (or CTF) .

5)Open CTFTool, then select extract. Voila!

Final thoughts:
Why CTFTool wasn't able to open the theme? maybe it was DRM-Protected with some headers and stuff. it looks like it must be decrypted to be used, thought, so when PSP imports, you get a *unprotected* theme.

OBS:This tutorial is for a theme that PSP is able to open, but you`re unable to extract. If even the PSP can`t open, then sorry, but i can`t help you.

heh, well I haven't ran across any theme were i could never open it so this is definitely strange to me... is this for like themes from PSN?

Yes, definitively, i bought some themes from PSN, the background were totally nice, but the xmb icons were totally not nice.. AKA Su*ks a lot

That, and i really think that if you bought something, then you must be able to tinker with it..
