Somewhat a cross between a mobile and a tablet, this is basically a "big phone" Samsung is releasing in the future, which pretty much has all the features of premium smartphones.

In terms of size, comparing to a PSP-2000, it has similar weight, about half the thickness, width is 2cm shorter (I'm guessing the PSP's width includes the rounded bits) and is 1cm taller, so it'll probably be a similar fit in your pocket.  PSVita will have the same height as this "phone" but twice as thick and 3cm wider.
At this size, the device features a 5.3in SAMOLED screen (1in larger than PSP's) at 1280x800 resolution (so 285ppi, 16:10, meaning you actually get more screen area).
Comes with Android 2.3, 16GB internal memory (plus microSD expansion), and removable! 2500mAh battery.  other specs

ive had nothing but good experiences with Samsung phones, and i see no reason for this to change in the forseeable future
Oh my that is one large screen for  a phone

Rumours say a release at end of this year to early Q2 2012.
Not that I'm interested, but the iPhone 5 is rumored for release this month so hopefully that'll get competitors pulling up their socks.

I question the timing of this release... I wonder if Ice Cream Sandwich would have suited this device better.... (then again, I believe it falls in the zone for an ICS upgrade so it might just get one..)
Rumoured release now seems to be before Christmas this year.

Oh, and it seems the screen will be a Pentile RGBG matrix, so colour reproduction might not be the best, but then, it has a fairly high PPI, so wee'll have to see how well it does.
Also of note, Apples iPhone event on the 4th and Samsungs Google event on the 11th. (iPhone 5 and Nexus Prime respectively expected)
Now that a number of people have it, the general consensus seems to be that it's too big to comfortably use with one hand.  Also handwriting isn't terribly good because you can't rest your hand on the screen, so writing is a little awkward.

Otherwise, the screen is the obvious plus (PenTile not an issue), and the device is light.
I'll probably go for the Galaxy Nexus as the screen is big enough and for smaller size.
