So the drama that is the US economy has been all over the news recently - although I think it would make an excellent TV series, I don't have the resources to start such a thing, so I'll just post a thread here.

So what's happening?
Yo dawg, I heard the US goverment likes borrowing, so they funded their loans with loans so they could borrow while they borrow.
And S&P was like, fcking awesome dude, ur debt is like "omfg super awesome" (previously "omfg ultra awesome").
In response, investors sold off their investments, and decided to become gold miners.

Outside of the US, people in London recently decided to blow up what little they had left, in an attempt to improve their economy (or social welfare).
European businesses have found that downward sloping stock graphs to be aesthetically pleasing, and Europeans are trying to push the success of this new fad onto international markets.

Oh, another thing - if all this poo poo in the news is annoying, but you still want to keep track of what's going on, you can find a "real time" (not really) numerical outline here.
actually london riots where because police officers shot a man to death

then didnt report to the family about it
then wouldnt reply to the family when they inquired about it
then yesterday night after 2 days of riots they decide to apologize
well it was about a man shot dead, then people started looting for the hell of it because it makes them supposedly look like badmen

I'm going to Camden on friday, oh my.

...which is to improve social welfare, right?
Which, arguably, is related to the economy.

Black president ruins economy and "fixes" economy further by "improving" it...

I kind of hope wee can get donald trump into office next election because I heard he is running and he is a very wealthy business man and I'm hoping he can find a way to manage the debt... (but aside from that I know nothing of his political platform)

I always wondered about debt in general though among countries... Who would call America's debt? How could wee pay it and what if wee didn't? I doubt wee're all suddenly going to become slaves to some country because our country couldn't pay the debt. Even now unless you deal international business, (or if you've been laid off or were initially from the lower class) you probably wouldn't notice the changing value of a dollar, since the price of all home made goods generally fluctuate with it.

Arguably, you need to spend to get out of a crisis.
Leaves you with a big debt, but it's probably better than having nothing.

Running a country's economy is not like running a business.  For one, your aim isn't to make profit (eg, him being wealthy is somewhat irrelevant).
