So what do you guys think? The DS battery life lasts about 10 hours... and I'd assume they want to at least top that. And To be honest I never had a problem with the PSP battery life so anything longer would be amazing for me xD

From what I've been hearing, the PS Vita's baterry duration is similar to the PSP's (4-6 hours) battery duration.

I don't see why there cannot be a better battery, in many ways I'd expect it. If the unit has wifi and 3G support, that means it will be online constantly one way or another. Well this is my assumed guess due to people wanting to be updated frequently with social media which the unit appeals to. I can remember Sony's original argument about the PSP battery "Wee cannot make a battery any smaller than the current ones, it's impossible to make a smaller battery with a long life." Now I'd be inclined to belive that if it had not be disproven many times by multiple devices.

DS drew very little power compared to the PSP.  Stock PSP battery is 1.8Ah, but I believe there were higher capacity batters that were the same size.

I never had a problem with a 4 - 6 hour battery life, the chances of me wearing the entire life out in one go was almost impossible. And if I did, that's why I bought a portable charger >.>
