I had ordered a 2GB Sony MS off of some site somewhere. It worked fine for a couple of months, but all of a sudden it stopped working. My computer (which has a slot for MS) couldn't even recognize it.
So I googled the problem. There's another way you can find out it's fake. Rub the Sony logo really hard. If it rubs off, it's fake. If you do that to a real Sony MS, the logo won't rub off at all, no matter how hard you rub it.
Also, that's strange. I could still check the MS info even if the light was flashing. Just go to Photo (or any folder) press the triangle button, and click information.
