so, as some of you know, I've been doing quite a bit of research regarding the flash0 themes of the ps3 in an attempt to get something similar to that of psp's done for it..

ever since yesterday I've had 3 ps3's from which one is a development unit, one running 3.55kmeaw for games (already one broken BD-drive) and one YLOD/overheat/broken RSX unit that i dedicated to XMB hacking tests...

now, some non-hacking related insidents happened yesterday which led me to once again either get a new set of spareparts (~200$) or be without a functional (standard)ps3..

so regrettably, im calling it quits here, im not even particularly fond of the ps3 to begin with and after being left with no warranty (they don't have a warranty in my country, not one that works) and some 1300€ (~1861$) worth of garbage hardware, im not going to have anything to do with ps3's anymore...

the reason im posting this is because im hoping someone else will pick up on researching the flash0 theming of it.

i can try and help you if you got any questions regarding to what i know and managed to make so far.

good luck and hopefully you guys aren't as unlucky as i am :P
Damn that sucks!  I saw some of what you were doing and well done so far...wasn't there a way to run firmware from usb stick??
damn mugi fair play

hope someone will pick up where this left off

my PS3 is updated and i don't know nearly enough to begin searching
there is jaicrab's usb firmwareloader for atleast 3.41 but as I've stated in numerous places before, i wouldn't trust it to be accurate.
the ps3 flash is just too unstable by nature to be possible to get accurate behavior when remote loading it.
Wow , that's not good. Sory to hear it.
Well that's depressing. At least you managed to to discover some very useful things for the community before halting to a complete stop.
thanks joomla, it's always nice to hear that it was appreciated. :)
i really enjoyed doing this too, but enough is enough... i just can't justify it to buy another ps3 anymore...
Sad to hear that.
Thanks for efforts nonetheless :)
truth to be told... i already spent 500$ to get a new ps3, and that half-broken poor thing I've used on my flash0 research is still operable..
it's just that after wrecking so many of them i don't' really just want to deal with ps3's at all..

it's not like i ever played any games on it either, even when it worked, and after having 2 virtually unused consoles break down on me for no reason at all it just pisses me off, very majorly if i might add..

maybe if I'll get bored toying with ps1/ps2/psp again in the future I'll get back to it, but no idea really..
if i do im sorta hoping this has progressed a little, im more of a designer person than the guy who figures it all out to begin with :P
You are, quite simply, the man, for sacrificing your lambs.

A shame, it is, that pulled, is the plug, on your work.

And stuff. Things. And anything you were thinking.  Yeah, I thought that.  FIRST.
