A fully secure network? Where can I get one :) I guess in part it's there fault, but not fully. If someone wants to hack it, they will hack it. Hindsight is 20/20.
It's possible to have a server that's secure enough.
I would say that Sony has a lot of blame to take in this, but they're not fully responsible.
Arguably, the people doing the attack should also be blamed.
Well, let's see if wee ever find out how this was done and how much could have done to prevent this. If they did less then what most others do to secure their network. Like I said, saying they should have done this or that is easy. Don't get me wrong I'm not on Sony's side at all. They have done many things wrong, but they don't deserve this.
I find it amusing that people want to blame GeoHot and a few other for this Hackin issue. my ex girlfriend 'borrowed' my last account but im not worried about the credit its the address and email thing im worried about. My recent account has nothin on it, jus demos.
Actually, I don't think I remember having PSN remember my card information but when I get the chance, I'll check.
Sony did something wrong that's for sure Hihi

Geohot made the jailbreak he didn't discover the faulty security that was failoverflow,.

I had say Sony's lag(security fault) and ignorance(removing the otherOS with no regard to customers(just like backwards compatibility PS1)) didn't do them any good,.. this round i am at the hackers side :) Sony you suck!!

Hope sony will learn something,. Power to the people!! you can't rule and make $$$

also
i am happy i didn't fall for the PSN+ thingy,. that would have been a total waste of my 50euro!! mebbe some people got there $$ well spend but i wouldn't have come close,. and yet i had almost bought PSN+,. power of commerce! that's why i don't dislike sharing,..

New update.
Unfortunately doesn't really say much, then again, they did mention they're just rehashing info.

They could've at least hashed the passwords.
I think failing to do that (including the fact that they used a constant number instead of a random number to secure their flagship console) already demonstrates that they probably haven't done enough to secure their systems.

* this post is full of my speculation
