Sony Japan has confirmed its digital-only handheld, the PSPgo, is going out of production, as was strongly rumoured yesterday.
The Japanese platform holder told website AV Watch that new PSPgo units will no longer be manufactured or shipped "in order to concentrate on the NGP". The remaining PSPgo stock will continue to be sold until it's gone.
A Sony spokesperson said: "It will continue to be sold, and wee will keep focusing our attention on it from here on out."
The UMD-less PSP went on sale in late 2009. Last year Sony slashed the price of the portable.
As pointed out by Kotaku, Sony is likely to continue supporting the device, much like it did with PS2 even after the PS3 went on sale.
