Hey guys, it's been a while!
I have problem and was wondering if you guys could help. I have a .wmv file that is about 43 hours long but I need to edit this into a "highlights" video and have no idea what video editing software to use! The software will need to mirror the video (as it's recorded mirrored for some reason and I need it the right way), cut, paste edit the video file in general and add text to the video. So can anyone help with what I can use?? The software should preferably be free but that isn't a necessity once it can handle 43 hours of footage and is easy to use/ doesn't have a steep learning curve as I have only ever used windows movie maker!
Cheers guys and thanks in advance,
J.
Sony Vegas 10.0,.. can't really tell you for sure if there is a mirror function,.. but the program is very easy to use and interface friendly ;) if you can work with "movie maker" you can work with this oehja!
edit: and cheers ;p
I preffer vegas pro 10.0c.
Its quiqk,and simple to use
After Effects would work, not that hard because it'd be mostly transforming and clipping.
Thanks guys! Now it seems my computer can't quite handle editing 53 hours of 720p video :O I have no idea what I am going to do now because it needs to be edited!

Either find a computer that can edit it or you'll have down encode it to a 480p video to make it more editable.
53hours 720p,. how many gig>?>?
you have no hard drive space? or is there a file size limit or something>?
YAy im impressed by your boldness Jadore.
I mean every of this program wich exist for windows are so FAT to handle for the RAM of the PC.
all your cutting and editing must be rendered , do you imagine how long it could take you to edit the original video
on a normal PC high end CPU and how much RAM would take . I never saw real movie editing Hardware but i think you might need one.
43 hours of 720p
EDIT : ok maybe you can try with some of the programs you have , try them all , to make your video smaller , i mean cut it in small pieces and then try to edit them and later mux them all together... dunno.
Don't need Vegas or any high end tools if all you're doing is basic stuff. VirtualDub for simple cutting...
Well After Effects crashes when I try to import the video. Sony vegas pro trial and cracked just pause on the startup screen for me, just cannot get the program to work. the video opens in media player but when you try to editi t it says the video is over 24 hours, please make it smaller so you can edit it or something along those lines but I have nothing to make it smaller with!
@ Vegetano1, actually this is only 17GB it isn't the 720p version, that's on another computer but it was left beside a stage speaker thingy and then the computer wouldn't start and wee never bothered recovering the file.
By the way guys this video is a video of me and my friends playing halo reach for 42 hours to beat the record for the longest games marathon on a first person shooter. Wee done it for Charity in a Shopping centre and raised about €3,000. Now all wee have to do is edit the video into "highlights" for guinness world records but wee also had to have the whole thing recorded if it's requested so wee got it from from 3 different angles!!!
