Actually, if they're using a botnet, it can be set to attack on a schedule and no user input is required as long as the machine running the botnet client is still on.
They usually aren't, and if they are, they'd need a friggin' enormous botnet where each node doesn't do much to take down Sony's servers.

No, it's real and the threats to websites are real but I'm not sure if PSN is affected but they said they were going to attack it.

Personally, I think they're a bunch of cyber-terrorists that give the rest of 4chins a bad name. I mean, most of the boards don't even interact with each other, it's just those retarded gibbons on /b/ which get it into their heads that "Anonymous is leejun".
