I've been proposed with making a website for a self-employed man, but i have never been tasked with making a functioning shop before.
I'm thinking this would involve, HTML, ASP, SQL and Flash skills. I have those, but how to put them into practice. If there is anything you guys can tell me about how i could go about this, please feel free.
There are webhosts that come with web store software templates. I wouldn't exactly know where to start though to be honest unless he sold his products/services with PayPal.
i was thinking of using PayPal as a base, seeing as he could manage his sales on there.
Customer information would still be managed by SQL database, as would his products... which would in turn be forwarded to any PayPal order forms that were made. if you get me
You're making a hell of a lot of work when you could easily use something like Magento - after that you just need to design the thing and there you have it.
There are quite a few eCommerce packages out there and you may as well make the most of them.
But anyway..

On an Windows server, that should be sufficient.
Yeah, that's pretty much what I was thinking. Setting up the front end will be the easiest part really. Implementing said system though might be tricky.
can always do it the old J-list style, a blog type with picture category,
