Cool thanks flo for the news :)

sorry couldn't rep you,. already did ;p
It looks like you can lower the brightness to even lower than the normal PSP settings. I should get this to save battery.
yea its a good plugin but its all stuff ive seen before. Any version of the custom firmware extender plugin does this.
Is it true that it ruins your PSP's Pixels?
Where'd you hear that ? Haha.

I don't think so, no. You see, the pixels themselves have a limit. Sony added only 3 brightness settings just to keep it simple for the kiddies. Physically they should be able to go from 0.01% to 100%, but because the full 100% usually drains much much more battery - around two or three times quicker - it's not such a good idea for the battery. You see, each battery has its own charge cycle limit. After about 500 charge cycles it starts to hold less and less charge. And Sony decided it's not worth it to have the highest setting cranked up all the way if the battery lasts 1.5h instead of 3h.

And why should you set all the way to 100% ? If you take it outside it's not gonna help much... In fact, you'd be better off switching off the background light completely.

But I would like a plugin that goes even lower then the lowest setting, especially at night.
^ I'm not sure whether there really are that many brightness settings - at least on my PSP-1000.  The CFE plugin does have a percentage thing, but the screen only seems to adjust in certain increments, eg 1-7% is the same brightness, 8~15% is one step brighter, etc.

I might try this one.  I've always used the old BC.prx which I think was the first one to support the additional brightness levels.  Works well but I don't like how it automatically sets your screen to the brightest when you turn the thing on.
