Quote:As you guys have noticed, I’m currently working on the Online Mode Feature, which wee intend to add with PRO-C while VF deals with PRO-Before at the moment.

I’m wondering which approach to the online mode you guys would prefer, do you wish to have a centralized server shape, with one single server to hold all users, or a decentralized shape, where every community, lets say, a Monster Hunter Community, could host their own server?

What the up and downs are for each approach are quite clear… centralized has one big PSP online community, a lot of users in one spot, making matchmaking easier… but of course this requires more expensive servers and thus more donations to pay for them, while the decentralized approach splits the community into many subgroups, making matchmaking more difficult, but of course cheaper, as the server costs would get covered by each communities manager.

This blogpost will lock comments in 2 weeks from now, I will then evaluate your decissions in the comments.

Greetings, Coldbird.

So go there and say what you want Yay

I'm for the centralized server because it would be more stable I thinkAdore
Dude just posted this first.
Just chill, same time o:_0
i have posted my thoughts and came to the conclusion that while centralised is faster and stable, it would also be more expensive and troublesome to maintain. i also proposed a compromise - combining a basic server to host connection details and having the server decentralised.
LOL. They were posted at the same time.
wow nice split second posting, but i think OMightyBuggy posted it first because of posting order in the news page
I'd prefer centralized, so that there won't be any hassle~
Decentralised > centralised IMO.  Former gives more freedom.
Though I thought games connected to their own servers.  Probably something I don't get here.

OMightyBuggy - unfortunately, I probably should get rid of one and everyone seems to be replying here.  Thanks for posting still! :)
Whatever!
