I know that vBulletin 4 (not sure if it's available for other software) comes with a plugin called Tapatalk that interacts with the Tapatalk Android app. Basically it optimizes the site/forum for the Android browser regardless of the site's compatibility. People have also created their own 3rd party forum apps (such as the XDA Developers app) which will work with any site software I would assume.

I've looked at Tapatalk before, but I don't really want to develop for a non-free application... (unless there's really a huge benefit in doing so)
A mobile optimised skin probably works better.

I was thinking the same. That's the only thing I really dislike about it.

Tapatalk do seem to support a few already... I suppose that means they don't think MyBB is popular enough.

I think it's because MyBB is open source.

MyBB
Spoiler for useless info:I use phpbb :/
wat. I said phpBB in response to Joomla saying Tapatalk wouldn't do a plugin for MyBB because it's open source. Tapatalk have done one for phpBB, hence my reply.
