i can tell just from that screenshot your using XP
which using alot less resources
seeing the fact that also opera can run the webpages though there own server to make the pages smaller, argument invalid
I really don't think screenshot'ing memory usage is really a relevant thing to do. I find that, a lot of the time, RAM usage can be large due to, for example, memory leaks.
If you're like me and keep Firefox open for days, you're bound to accrue usage from leaks. I guess this is one point where Chrome's one tab per site may work a bit better - it uses more memory, but reduces the effects of leakage (as long as you close down processes).
wee've been using it about almost a day or two, and it looks like a slower version of Google Chrome, lol (even the interface looks like more of a Chrome)
wouldn't want any other browser

O.o
How many tabs do you have open? How many with heavy flash content?
My Firefox doesn't use even remotely close to those numbers...
760MB here - but I do have 12 tabs open.
FF4 is superb - finally fixed freezing and ridiculous RAM usage (FF3 used far more, god know why).
Faster and my essential plugins still work. Nice one Mozilla.

What the hell? How do you guys even make it use that much RAM? By using 100 plugins or something?
Maybe you should completely wipe everything Firefox related from your computer and re-install it fresh.
I'm using the new FireFox now. It does seem to be faster..
My only compliant is, some of my favorite plugins (ie - multi row bookmarks toolbar) have not yet been updated to support it.
Running great though

Wow 6 times faster ?
Downloaded !
The release candidate would cause winamp to lag...hope this works though, mines using 158,200K at the moment with 3 tabs :/

Everything is OS X seems to use more RAM. I only have 5 plugins and this is newer install of OS X. Not that OS X slows down over time. I would say before Firefox used too much RAM, but now it's fine. Everything runs nice and fast.
