right now my internet has slowed down to around 74kbps and it has really pissed me off. wee get billed monthly and during the first 7 days of this month June, i downloaded 3864MBs (something like 3.6GB) anyways after that, they changed their billing process so when i checked on the 9th, it said wee had no downloads so i thought "sweet i just had 3.6GB of free downloads :D". now here comes the problem, I'm on a 12GB down/up plan and so far i have done something like 8.5GB with still a week left. now the rule is that if you download over the 12GB limit, you pay no extra but your speed is slowed to 64kbps. somehow, Telstra has combined the two bills, the one from the start of the month, so that wee have somehow gone over our limit. dads going to probably kill me now that it has slowed down, so much that i may be eXx1l3d form the internet or the computer (because there isn't really anyone else who downloads lots in my family). i don't even know if my dad will have to pay for both bills. and i can't really tell my dad about this, he just has to find out or else he will know that i know his password for bigpond.com and i will get in big s.h.i.t.
so Telstra fcuk you
That's why i mainly use my neighbors wireless internet. LOL
My ISP provider is pretty nice on that. I'm on a 10gb/month plan, that slows down to dialup when i use over.
BUT when i do use it up, they DO NOT slow down my speed UNLESS the network is busy, and the network seems never to be busy, so I'm getting extra free downloads at full speed all the time.
I'm using Comcen, $30/month ADSL plan.
Telstra is ALWAYS ghey.
You could've shoved the blame on Telstra (dad won't complain, as Telstra probably won't respond). But then you said something about knowing the password, so that could be a different issue...
My ISPs download meter is glitched though - I have to add up all the usage to get the true amount (lol, they're trying to rip me off
)
...unfortunately very expensive in Australia...
(1.5Mbps "true" unlimited is like AU$90/month)
Damn. That spoon is outrages. Here 50 dollars/month can get you a 6 mb/s connection with out any limits.
Yeah that's pretty bad, with my ISP I can get 10 MB/s with a 100GB monthly limit (they rarely enforce that though) for around $50 CAD (about $55 Australian).
Probably the "best value" plans around here are about AU$60/month for 24Mbps, 20GB/month. (note that "24Mbps" - no-one has gotten speeds above 21Mbps before, plus it typically runs at around 8Mbps)
