My psp joystick is F*****.

it goes in random donkey places. i beleive it is due to not enought force applied on the contacts. my screws in the back are stripped to tightening. so i can take em out but not make them tight...

i used Daedalus (dead stick zone mapping) to see what exactly was it doing...
and it just jumps around extremely fast in every direction and wouldnt not register up and right and the coresponding diagonal.

any ways. i can't solder. my dad won't do it. so i can't solder hard wires to replace this silicone.

my dad wants me to super glue the silicone contacts to both ends of the psp and clamp it till it dries.

but the only problem i see is that might not work, and inturn fudge it up so i can never open my psp again.

PLEASE

just any insight would help...
There's a recalibration thing apparently (rotate the stick during the XMB credits).
Otherwise give JoySens plugin a try.
Joysens plugin, yes. Zinga is on the right track. I used to use it for ages when my joystick went bad. However the problem on mine was the face plate.

Where one of the screws went in on the bottom left of the faceplate had cracked the plastic it screwed into. Make sure nothings up with you faceplate.

You mentioned you can take out the screws but not put them back in tight. Sounds like the problem right there, from my experience that is.

If its the joystick, or silicon or whatever you mentioned I recommend just buying a new joystick.
the PSP's joystick doesn't need to be soldered on :/

it's just contact pads

get a new one, or take it apart and clean the contacts

especially the soft plastic rectangle that conducts
