Maybe I can troll a few culture/religous/whatever forums when I'm bored with nothing better to do.

I think the book is wrong.
Trolls troll for the hell of it; response or no, they know that they've pissed someone off somewhere.
Things like deliberate, diamond dozen spelling mistakes that your sure to fall for, as well as doggy-dog world things like "I fudgeed you're mum".
Trolling is, as always, a art.
