if I don't move a muscle and think of random things but don't sleep is it just as good as normal sleep?

I have been trying for about 5hours on my bed.
That happens to me a lot. If you do it long enough, you'll fall asleep for real.
Same for me I always think bout random stuff for a while in my bed before sleeping and I always fall asleep after awhile, but If you don't fall asleep afterwards It wouldn't be as good as normal sleep and sometimes it makes you more tired. I've been like this for a while now. at noon before I fall asleep I think about random stuff and I can't sleep and this has been making me feel more sleepy during my classes.
I always try sleeping at 1am but i always end up sleeping at 9pm...
Thank god tomorrow is Friday my body has been really feeling like crappy lately cause of work.

i think about rainbow and unicorn, then watch hershey kisses and fell asleep instantly.
