I've never got drunk and I never paid attention in health classes (I don't think they even taught that though) But I would go with face side. Think about how a volcano works and you'll know why I wouldn't suggest face up.

Wouldn't it still kinda block airways though? I mean, I wouldn't be able to breathe if my face was face down in a puddle. But if I'm wrong, ignore me, because as I said before, I'm not really familiar with this.
