Although Somy has been putting a lot of attention to its upcoming MGD gaming platform and it's amazing freezing capabilities, the company has acknowledged the fact that it probably won't be released any time soon.
So in the meantime, it has decided to update one of its older platforms, the dated Fridgestation Portable. [author's note: whose freezing capabilities are significantly less powerful than the MGD's]

Somy recently announced three new devices to compliment its FSP range of products.

First, is the FSP-2011, to be released June this year.  Many users complained that the original FSP was too light and flimsy, making it unsuitable for carrying heavier bones from dead bodies and sometimes even allowing suspicious odors leak out.  Somy has acknowledged the issue and hopes the FSP-2011, dubbed "Fat and Hevy", will resolve these issues (Somy has ensured the reliability by sitting a 100lb gorilla on the device, which was still operational afterwards).
Somy has also claimed that they have resolved the bug which caused the famous case where Aunt Pandora mysteriously revived when her organs were placed in the device.

Late 2011 before Christmas, will see the release of the Fridgestation Portable Halt.  Somy claims that the Halt will be a significant redesign hoping that it will fare better against rival Nimtendo's PS (penta-screen).  The device will be larger, but more importantly, will be even larger when not in use.  This ensures that it consumes maximum storage space whilst not in use, yet remain usable in a portable manner.
The Halt will need to be assembled when used, and should be disassembled when not in use.
Further details on the Halt have not yet been finalised.

Last, due sometime in 2012 or perhaps a few decades later, the Fridgestation Fone.  It seems that even Somy cannot ignore the hype of mobile phones these days, so it plans on entering the market with its own.  Details are very sketchy at this stage, however Somy says that it intends to allow full compatibility with the FSP, yet have the ability to make calls.
Responding to fears that it might get sued over similarity by Sony's upcoming Playstation Phone, Somy have decided against using the Android platform on their device, instead using a rather peculiar alternative.  Somy intends to use the popular Hatsune Miku synthesizer application as the operating system for the device.  How the adaption will be made has yet to be seen, but rumors ranging from "unique ring tones" to "LovePlus like experience" have been going on around various internet discussion boards and social networking services.
