With the lojack thing I was just talking about all laptops in general.

i have no idea....
for a windows laptop id recomend a dell 1505, good product, low price.

and for a desktop, build it yourself, its hella easy... if you want some help with parts hit me up on aim and id be happy to help

oh, i don't have that...
PCs aren't hard to build.  I generally find putting in the CPU heatsink/fan the hardest part...

MSN > AIM :P
^^^ exactly, AIM is more USA, while MSN is International :P

if i end up choosing to get a notebook, you can't really build them...
Notebooks can be partly built - you have to look for a barebones notebook, then you can install stuff like CD drives and HDDs (not too sure what you can change, but If I recall correctly, CD/DVD, HDD, RAM, Graphics (maybe)).
