It looks like Somy's difficult financial situation will be made worse with the announcement that Sorny is planning to sue Somy over its brand name.

Sorny Console Entertainment (SCE) spokesperson Jeeves Tobs told reporters that Somy had been using its brand name to mislead consumers into buying cheap Chinese knockoff products, and were ruining the Sorny brand name.  SCE claims that Somy have been using the name for many years and are seeking one million dollars ONE HUNDRED BILLION DOLLARS in compensation under consumer protection laws.

Somy declined to comment, but did say that none of their upcomming products, in particular, the MGD, would be affected by the case.

For cheap Chinese knockoffs, the MGD is powerful. So anyone know the outcome of this case? Will Somy rename themselves to Sonny?
