No. The blue screen is the equivalent of the "Restore Default Settings" feature from System Settings. It's because the files from flash1 (where most of the settings are stored, including the wallpaper) simply don't match the current version. Meaning the flash0 install probably doesn't point to flash1 where the settings are stored, or they're encrypted for that particular firmware (it's why you see newer tags in PSAR Dumper when a newer firmware is out).
5.00 M33-6 has the best compatibility with homebrew and plugins and 5.03 MHU is basically 5.00 M33-6 ported to "Pandora-proof" PSPs. So why 5.03 ? Because of:
1. Maximum compatibility with homebrew and plugins.
2. POPSLoader - for a very high compatibility with PSX games, else you're stuck with the POPS version it came with.
3. Speed up MS access - incredibly useful feature if you have a fake memory stick or simply want to squeeze those extra 20 ms of performance out of your PSP (sometimes more, depends on the game).
IMO these features trump the comic book store and SensMe channels (which is available as a separate homebrew, mind you). Comic books are basically RAR or ZIP archives (.cbr and .cbz) full of JPG and sometimes PNG images. Opening them with PSP Filer is good enough for me.
PS: And they're not available for 5.03 GEN let alone 6.20 TN.
