Ok, 'noob alert' right here... I'm trying to find the answers for myself, but after a while it just gets too much...
Just got my hands on a 1002 PSP which is running 5.00 TZS-6. Means nothing to me really, but I want to understand a few basic things:
1. There isn't too much info on the web about this CFW and from what I've read people aren't that impressed by it.
2. Am I able to remove/downgrade this CFW and go with something more common, particularly where there is more 'plain english' help available ?
Finally, where can I go to understand better how CFW works more generally and the tips to follow when using it ? Ie, what to do and what not to do (ie system updates etc)
Thanks

Yes.
Since you already have CFW, then you should be able to just run the EBOOT included with whatever new CFW you want to install, which will install the CFW for you. (Read the readme included with the CFW you downloaded).
Otherwise you can make yourself a Pandora and do it that way (safest brick-proof method). Google/Yahoo/Ask/whatever if you don't know how.
The answer to 2 I say would be the same as ASSinator said. The most up to date CFW I believe is the 5.XX GEN series though some people still stick with 5.XX M33
For one I think it's just 5.00 M33 with a few extra flash or that's what one google result said. I never knew about and I would've almost thought someone hex editted an already existing CFW to say 5.00 TZS-6.
or it was a secret dev's PSP
one can dream lol
Thanks for your replies.
Most of the comments about this CFW talk about how it flashes the system and whilst that doesn't mean a great deal to me, it doesn't appear to be the most recommended.
I'll have a look around at some of the other CFW's before deciding which one to go with.
Thanks again
..... I don't really understand what flashing means, but I assume if I change to another CFW, whatever this TZS did would be undone ???
Yeah basically. By the way, the term flashing means to write to the PSP's flash which is basically the operating system of the PSP.

tzs-6 is a real cfw, but a really lame one
it's just 5.00 m33 repackaged with some plugins preflashed in
it's supposed to be for PSP-2000 only though :/ uninstall
