so this means anyone can fashion software for PSP that installs a CFW?
if i understand correctly

because i find it hard to imagine how plugins would work without a CFW

Same here... although I guess like said before one could just make a installer that adds plugin support to OFW.
Apparently Sony stuck the PSP's private key on the PS3.
Silly mistake.
Then again, having their private key of the PS3 cracked was probably even stupider.

Well, the PSP is now completely hacked, utterly and truly.
Lucky for Sony, they've got some hope with the PSP2 (which probably won't make the same mistake unfortunately).
I can imagine they won't have backwards compatibility on the PSP2 because of it.

unless they're stupid enough to put the keys on the PS3 so that the PSP2 and PS3 can interact.

Odds are though, they'll make a PSP2 store as a seperate item.
^ Nah, they can just change the hardware of the PSP2 and just not allow the PS3 to sign PSP2 stuffs.
They could allow some backwards compatibility with the PSP similar to the PSX emulator.  Since the PSP2 probably won't have a UMD drive? many games would need to be made into a sellable soft copy.  IDK much of how many games exist for the Go.
