The LED's pulsate if they're hooked up to the headphone amp power supply? While that may be cool that shows some pretty poor design on Apple's part. If the voltage is dropping as the load increases it means there's very little, if any power regulation going on there. Shame on you Apple.

On the other hand it should look pretty bitchin'. One of my few praises of the iPod range is their ubiquity meaning compatible accessories everywhere and their hackabaility.

he may have to use an LM386 chip to amplify the drops and make it noticeable... i wonder if one would fit?
hmmm. i got my faceplate in the mail today and installed it, but imma hold off on the LEDs until i decide where i want to put them and such. plus, i don't have a dip switch, so theyd be on the entire time the ipod is on, with no option, and that doesn't sound like something i want...
