Wait you're as old as I am?

@_@

You seem much more mature than me, thought you were in your early 20s :<

Erk

I thought you were like 30 something...
lol, most of you are under 19, thought you were around my age >.<
I thought everyone was older than that as well....ehe, live and learn i guess
Look, it's not the age that determines how you act. I was just commenting that the surplus of immaturity comes from over the top kids and teenagers.

But yeah, I do act older than my current age, hell, all my friends are older than I am; oldest one being a guy in his thirties with a family. :P
It's just kids looking for publicity and popularity. Many do it and I see it many places other than the PS* scene.

and slushba younger on the count of his "maturity" level

lol
1992-birth-year master race, for the win.

And most scenes are comprised of about 10% contributors/devs; 30% people who are quite capable at applying tools made by the contributors; 20% people who can follow instructions and generally don't have problems; and to round it all off, 40% people who are pants-on-head retarded, ask stupid questions, can't google, work themselves into corners with stupidity, or generally drag the scene down.

You put it in the best way possible.

It's just the retarded ones are the ones that you notice die to their obnoxious behavior.
From my personal observations, the PSP scene is one of the better ones, considering that most people who'd be interested would be younger people.  Some of the more technical communities I've been across (ie about data compression) obviously have a much greater average intelligence (though conversely, a much lower post count since there aren't half a million idiots asking stupid questions, so they're probably not really noticed).
I've seen a lot of Youtube comments which would probably be a lot more worse than the stuff I've seen in the PSP scene.

I also know a lot about the MyBB community, and it's a lot worse than the PSP one.  The majority of people there are clueless, and the "devs" are often not much better (they at least know how to upload files; I don't know why people who don't understand computer basics try to run forums).

In terms of percentages, I dunno.  I suspect the majority of people who post in the first place are the idiots.
Generally, the people who know their stuff don't post, so devs rarely notice these more competent people and get exposed to the dumb population.  Most idiots post something, maybe stay around for a short while, but once they're done, they just leave.  Some more intelligent ones who support the dev sometimes stay around and help clear the noobs out, whilst some newbies do end up helping others.
So it's difficult to judge proportions when most of the smarter ones don't post in the first place, but out of the people who do post (PSP), I'd probably say more like 1-3% real contributers/devs, 3-7% of people who contribute rubbish (hello world app, the stupid Starcraft LUA app for PSP, fake custom firmwares), 20% newbies who are fine after given some instruction, 30% of people who know what they're doing (higher because the PSP scene has somewhat died and many of the people left somewhat know what they're doing) and ~40% of pure idiots.
you young 'un muwhahahah
