The thread title speaks truth! After many years of being without a 7th gen console I finally own one.
So here is the juicy info:
Shes an ex-rental.
What does that mean? Well it means it was a console you could rent from say, a video store (NZ example: VideoEzy) but was 'borrowed'. After it was 'borrowed' it was tracked down by the police and confiscated. It was returned to Video Ezy but had already been replaced with a new one. So this particular one was just sold off as an ex-rental console by them.
It was sold to my mates uncle. Who then gave it to my mate. Who then proceeded in never using it as he is an xbox man. «----- This be a key point. NEVER USED IT
Here is where I come in.
I recently bought a Crisis Core Slim off Trademe (the NZ equivalent to Ebay) and as I already have a slim decided to sell it back off to make the money back on the new slim I just bought.
Dragon ball Z Tenkaichi Tag Team has just recently come out over here for psp. My mate who owned the PS3 is a big fan of the series and asked me how much I was selling the slim for.
I told him the price ($200) he said well ill give you the PS3 for it if you set me up with the Slim and Dragon Ball Z
I was all like
FUKKEN DEAL
totally happy with this trade

The PS3 is black :3 ma favourite colour for a console and its a 60GB model. Hard to come buy and sell for quite a bit as the can play PS2 games.
She came with 2 controllers and hella nice carry case and Assassins Creed 2 and COD Modern warfare 2
Condition is pretty good, is missing the little cover/flap thing that goes over the SD, Pro and CF memory card slots. The top is pretty scratched and it has "Video Ezy" scratched into it, so im getting the top recovered and getting the Cloud wolf emblem but on it :3 so it will look like a cloud black PS3 lol

as for firmware its currently on 3.15, the software just before they removed other OS.

However I have final school exams next week. One on Monday, Tuesday Friday and the following Tuesday. After that however I am a free man and will set up my playstation and stuff then.
Oh yea alot of you are probably thinking my friend is a freaking idiot for doing such a trade. He's not. As i mentioned above hes an Xbox lover and thinks the PS3 isn't anything compared to an xbox, he didn't buy it or anything as it was given to him. He never used it and in general didn't care for it. He just got rid of it for something he did want. Likewise with me.
tl:dr I now have a PS3

- The PS3 is from what i understand to be "partially hacked ish" is it worth updating to the software that has this PS jail break exploit?
- Is it worth staying on the current firmware for other OS?
- Some of you guys have PS3's toooooo! When i get it all set up add me! Im looking forward to being able to play stuff with you guys online. Tell me if you have a PS3 here.
