Senseito7 Wrote: [ -> ]Maybe to you, cause you play VNs. I've not seen the anime so I wouldn't. *shrugs*

You don't have to play lots of VNs or keep up with the scene to know about F/SN.  It's like one of the biggest most talked about animes back then when it aired (though you probably weren't into anime yet at that time).

And you don't really have to have watched F/SN to know about some of the main characters.  Like I knew about (at least to the extent of recognizing where the characters come from) all the main characters from Haruhi way before I started watching it.  You see them like everywhere on people's avatars and sigs on forums and pretty much anywhere anime related (ok, Saber way more so than Rin, but whatever).  Like I doubt Lunar and PB seen the anime either, and I 99.99% doubt they read the VN.  Sky probably read the VN if I were to guess.

Either way, it's no big deal.  It's not like you're going to get eated by a shark if you don't know some anime character.

There's too much to watch and not enough time.

The anime wasn't that great.  Play the VN.
SkyDX Wrote: [ -> ]Third, it's a nice feeling having already 2 beautiful figurines now and I agree, the Love Hina poster does look like a Love Hina doujin drawing but damn it looks good and I like it^^

I thought Love Hina straight away but because it looked a bit different I thought it must be something else.. still a very nice poster nevertheless.

The release of Unlimited Blade Works is pushing me to watch it. I was gonna watch the OVA Reproductions but I've heard nothing particularly good about them.

Well, the art style looks similar to these Negima mangas my sister had back then (Negima by the same artist as Love Hina).  So I'd say they're official.

The manga, not the anime.

"Reproduction" is just random bits of the original anime cut and pasted together, from what I heard.

Yeah, and apparently not very well. Series it shall be, then! (Have you seen the film yet? Any good?)
I see, yeah now that you say it, the art style does remind me of Negima o.o

And well I admit I WANTED to watch FSN when it came out in 2006, it was one of the candidates for truly watching my first subbed Anime alongside Shakugan no Shana, in the end it was Shana because I was dependent on YouTube at that time due to my hardware:

DSL 1000 120kb/s down, 10kb/s up

Pentium III 450mhz
128MB SD RAM
20GB HDD
SoundBlaster 16
GeForce 3 TI 200 64mb
WinXP

I had no way to really download Anime at this time and FSN was rarely available on YT from what I remember (maybe they always took it down quickly?)  I could only watch the first 2 episodes so I went with Shana.

I still plan to fully enjoy FSN in one form or another because I remember I liked the first 2 eps but as with Zinga there's too much >.<
And before you ask why I buy PVCs from characters I don't really know... I knew who she was and she's pretty... plus now I'm really motivated about FSN^^

No, but Tetris has, and you can read his thoughts here...

I would encourage you to play the VN instead of watching the anime.  It's generally regarded as being superior to the anime.

But ofcourse, the VN takes more time.  So it's sort of a tradeoff.

There's a manga too, but noone's heard of that.
i want the figure.
hecaitomix Wrote: [ -> ]i want the figure.

you want all figures if it came down to it :P
I shell play the VN, it's on my HDD anyway Hihi

As for the figure, hands off! >.<

I was kind of in "awe" after finishing the movie at the moment when writing that review so i guess that's the impression the movie would leave upon you.

Regardless, this movie WILL NOT MAKE SENSE if you don't watch the anime or the VN; i probably loved the movie so much because unlimited blade works in the VN felt shallow without the action being animated. They did a good job for still scenes, but obviously the VN fans wanted something more and the movie delivers.

Unlimited blade works set the feeling and action sequences in anime form, but the story wasn't explained throughly enough for me to recommend to someone who is new to fate/stay night. I think it's a way of the animators giving a big middle finger to the people who criticized the FS/N anime to be too much of a pussy parade (forgive my use of language); kind of like saying "YOU WANT VIOLENCE? YOU WANT ACTION?!?! ALL RIGHT LEEEEEEEEROOOYYYYY FUCKING JENKINS~! HERE WEE GO! MAXIMUM GAR ESTABLISHED"

Another interesting thing to note is that the movie stayed true to the VN in the scenes it did show, with even remakes of the images that popped up here and there in the VN.
