Since wee're starting a whole lot of flame bait threads anyway, no harm adding another one right?

Nvidia or AMD/ATI?
Not bias on either side. I believe the AMD/ATi graphics in my lappy have served me quite well but there is a noticeable stutter in CounterStrike (and Day of Defeat) just as something major happens that has hurt my ability to play well significantly - I won't forgive ATi for that!

I was going to go AMD/ATi for my first build........... but then the Nvidia Geforce 460 GTX came along. So I'll be going Nvidia~!
Nvidia generally, although ATi put out some brilliant cards, its just that I've always had Nvidia cards and they've always served me really well
The ATi graphics have done well for me in my laptop. Not that I ever use them for gaming. The most they ever do is run Aero.

As for desktops the 4850 in my brother's computer has done him well so far. He's not had any games that he's not able to run (mostly into strategy games rather than FPS's so not really that graphically challenging). The card was pretty cheap too. ~£60 on eBay.
hehe,..
nVidia in laptop Ati in desktop. No real preference.
Ati all the way. GO RED TEAM!
Haven't had a problem with any of those, but ill go with Nvidia, its on my desktop.
High end Nvidia, well if I had money. I never had problems with Nvidia, but I did have a few problems with ATI. I do think they are about equal, I'm just a creature of habit.
I'm personally using a Geforce 9800GT at the moment but based on recent reviews of the latest cards ATI seems to have gotten the edge since they currently hold the fastest card title while NVIDIA has made very bad cards/noisy/less performance and more power hungry or so i read in reviews.  One good nvidia card is the GTX460 though, it had pretty high rating in a lot of reviews.  I've always been using NVIDIA cards but really the choice doesn't comes on NVIDIA or ATI it's about ur budget and performance requirement.  Both sides I'm sure made good and bad cards. Up to u to find the one that's good.  Reading reviews and comments helps
