Hi dupain . longtime :p

i don't have the build yet Yawndoodle
The build seems nice but with those hardware i think u might need some good liquid cooling and maybe a UPS to save ur board in case of power cuts.

My computer suffered a lot from those cuts without ups it seems the motherboard doesn't function properly and that's what a technician told me too much brutal shut down damaged it.  When i pull off all the hardware and put them back in for cleaning sometimes the computer doesn't boot give me bios screen or nothing at all. i have to carefully reseat all the hardware and hope it works. Even when removing the RAM it doesn't give any sound.

If you don't usually have power cuts then u should be fine but here it happened fairly often and they even grilled my power supply once from over voltage. The UPS also protects ur computer against fluctuations  and some other stuff i read since it's some good expensive system I'd consider protecting it against these.  Burning

The liquid cooling will help ur system live longer and make less noise.  Get some good casing too so everything fits in and give u enough space Heyyou

idk too much about brands but after building a computer once these are the main problems i found.  For the brands maybe u could see what's available for u for prices and google up reviews on them and read the comments if there are happy or angry users.

For the Palit graphics card i dun remember what i read but they said the Asus was very efficient in cooling.  Look it up and see what suits u Hiding_something
If it looks like this is going to be delayed for a while, I would suggest waiting a bit, as I said before.  Nvidia 5xx cards incoming, AMD's 6xxx series going to replace the 5xxx series.  Plus next gen CPUs on Intel and AMD's side (Bulldozer is said to be AMD's biggest architectural overhaul in years) - if you plan on going Intel, you'll get the new socket (or cheaper i5/i7 prices).

Noway bulldozer? *googles* Heyyou hi burger long time no see Noway problem with tech is that new techs always expensive and when u decide to take the new one it's always getting weaker with the next series Woo wee should all make a time machine and get newer hardwares and software then come back with them to use at the current timeRoar
Hi.
Well yes, tech does always get old, but this is probably a bigger step than most.  New tech is expensive, but it usually causes prices of older tech to go down a fair bit when it's released.

Intel releases a new architecture roughly every two years (SB due in early 2011) and AMD's next chip is meant to be a big change.  Optimal time to upgrade is probably a short while after the new tech is released, rather than shortly before.
Bulldozer is expected to come out Q2 2011 supposedly.
nah.. i think ill stick with the i5
maybe the price will drop when they release the new ones lol

i read that i7's HT won't be of much use if i just do games

when can wee expect the next gen releases from intel?

5xx cards ? :/ .. theyd cost a lot i bet...
maybe ill just go for a gtx 470 if the price drops
or stick to a 460 and sli the thing XD
idk ... so far im still ok with this build spec

well see when this finally pushes through :/
New tech always is expensive, but as I said, you may experience a price drop of existing cards when they do get released.

Intel SB due in Q1 2011, so it'll be a few months probably.
