I'm probably going to get hated for saying this, but I guess it's one way to get rid of them if there's no alternative legal action (or can't sell them). Maybe it's more acceptable in their country?
Can't seem to find much info as to why it was thrown away (illness? family is poor?).
I have heard, for example, that because of China's one child per family policy, and many families wanting a son (to carry the family name), that some parents dump baby girls in the garbage or find some other way of getting rid of them. Harsh reality I guess.

Theres a certain logic to that, but in that case why film it. And why do it so casually, you think the person would show some emotion one way or another in that case...even if it was happiness at their release i could almost understand

A had a look at the video, it's pretty low quality and I can't tell much. Couldn't see her face from the clip and I couldn't tell whether the puppies were alive or not. But assuming what you said, I think people have different ways of expressing emotions. Not everyone breaks down into tears over everything that's sad. And if you've experienced a lot of sad things, you tend to desensitise anyway. I take your point that it is a bit disturbing though.
I don't know about the filming part. Who was filming it anyway? But yes, it does seem to be an odd thing to do.

Downer? Yes. But that's how the world is. Sun shines, birds fly, Scout hurts people, and things like this happen on a daily basis, somewhere; be it puppies or otherwise.
Im with zinga on this one, maybe the girl wasn't the one making the choices, rather, she was moreso being told by another person to do it? She seems disinterested of course, but there was probably a REASON to doing this and if you think about it, how else could you kill them humanely? Slit their throat? Trap them in a box and suffocate them? Bash their heads in? These are all VERY gruesome deaths and in general, i don't think many have the heart to do so.
I've heard in biology that the body goes into a type of sleep when it succumbs to hypothermia and your death (once you get past the cold) comes as if it was sleep. Maybe the family decided this accordingly to be the best death (yes, death is something horrible on it's own, I'm not saying good; I'm saying "best" of a already bad situation) and put this on their teenage daughter that volunteered to do it?
I've seen slaughterhouses where guys will slaughter a baby lamb or sheep; they do it with a straight face as if it was casual, why must wee also judge something like this?
Shrug, I'm not saying it's right nor is it something good to do; it was something terrible that had to be done and i really couldn't see any other way of putting the puppies down. (also, inb4 get a vet to put it down, they charge money for this; as zinga said, the family may have been poor)
Anyway guys, don't hate me for this, I'm just trying to open the discussion a bit. The girl could be killing them for fun, as for the video? Well teenagers are naive and stupid these days to know any better.
It may very well be that she did it for fun in a sick inhumane way, but i just can't imagine it to be something that many normal people could do without reason.
