ok so i was just on youtube like 25 min. ago watching this video and others like it claiming to say you can download psjail break.my question is,is any of this real can i really just go and download the softwear needed without paying for it?

so that's different software but not the break... hm.

the "3XJAILBREAK" sticks will be going for less than $40 through a chinese manufacturer at some point apparently but whether they are real or fake remains to be seen. IMO, just keep an eye on Mathieulh's Twitter for the time being.

Also be aware that there's an awfully made PS3 Jailbreak "Installer" floating around that anyone can download but also note that it's not only fake and does nothing but it's a Trojan as well - so keep away until the proper sources announce a proper free release

@ Way Too High: Correct me if I'm wrong but you can't just go installing the Backup Manager into the PS3. I thought you could only install stuff that is signed software by Sony. Don't you have to have the jig stick first before installing? To my understanding the jig stick boots up a separate firmware before the actual PS3 firmware and allows you to install unsigned Sony software, which mean you can than install Backup Manager.
