I mainly used iR Shell for using PSP as a remote.
As a shell, I don't think it's quite up to the same level of polish that the XMB is unfortunately, but it's certainly still amazing for a homebrew.

Yeah, the remote was the only use I really got out of it. Was fun going around the house turning off TVs and whatnot scaring people. :P
Meh, at school, controlling projectors was fun. Especially when you didn't like the teacher, and the teacher's computers are all hooked up to the projector - just switch the thing on and everyone can see what the teacher is doing. Lol.
Before i got my laptop IRShell was awesome. I could unzip files and then move them around and even read the readme.txt. I could install homebrew apps and games without even using a pc.
I would still use it but now that i have a laptop so there really is no need.

I used to turn the air conditioners on and off.
