My laptop refuse to turn on no matter how much I touch it. Damn tsundere. I think the power unit is fried. It turn on forlike a few seconds then power off on its own :(
With these thing, you've got to touch the heart. In other words, forceful action brings about rejection, but gentle, emotional actions bring acceptance.
You can try taking out components to see if any particular one causes the issue, though that probably doesn't help much.

If it turns out your motherboard is dead then you may be screwed. Laptop motherboards often cost as much as the laptop itself. Try isolating components as Zinga said. If it does turn out to be dead think of it as an oppertunity to upgrade. If you can't afford that you could try making an insurance claim if you have home and contents insurance.
